When Should You Bring Your Child in for their First Eye Exam?

What is InfantSEE®?

The Eye Doctors are excited to be one of the members of the American Optometric Association certified to provide InfantSEE®.  This nationwide public health program was created by the partnership between the American Optometric Association (AOA), The Vision Care Institute of Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, Inc., and Optometry’s Charity™ – The AOA Foundation to offer access to necessary vision care for infants.

InfantSEE® is a one-time professional eye care assessment for children between the ages of 6-12 months and comes at no cost regardless of insurance.  The goal is to offer crucial vision care for children at a critical stage in their visual development to detect any potential eye issues early on and to ensure healthy vision for the future.

The InfantSEE® Mission

The Eye Doctors are committed to providing this in-depth vision assessment for infants to ensure children have the eye care they need for healthy vision development.  The InfantSEE® program is able to identify potential sight-threatening risks for preventative care and reduces the impact of eye conditions like amblyopia that can lead to sight impairment.  It is also dedicated to empowering parents with the information they need to care for their children’s eyes with education on key factors like visual acuity, eye movement and alignment, and overall eye health.

You can learn more about InfantSEE® on their website, www.infantsee.org.
